YPP candidates organizes free medical care for FCT residents

Ahead of the 2019 general elections, Young Progressive Party (YPP) candidates, Prince David Adetunji Adeyeye; House of Representatives candidate for AMAC/ Bwari constituency and Leader Joseph Onus; Gwarinpa Ward Councillorship candidate in the 2019 general elections have held a free medical outreach for Abuja residents.

The free medical outreach held Saturday in Gwarinpa, Abuja, is coming barely 24 hours after the All Progressives Congress (APC) drew the ire of Nigerians, especially Abuja residents, for erecting a giant broom at the entrance into the capital city.

The medical outreach, which attracted thousands of Abuja residents, saw medical professionals checking the BP of patients, administering drugs and referring serious cases to hospitals for proper medical care, even as more than one thousand pieces of Durex Extra Safe condom were shared to interested users.

Addressing newsmen during the event, Adeyeye said that the YPP is a party interested in the welfare and health of Nigerians, unlike the APC that erects brooms with little or no economic value or impact on the lives of Nigerians.

He said: “In YPP, we always try to impact positively on the lives of Nigerians, as the well-being of a nation will translate to the development of society. Though the free medical outreach is the brainchild of my party member, it is just for you to know that will do more if we win our elections. Unlike the APC and PDP, we have the interest of Nigerians at heart.”

Also speaking, the Gwarinpa Ward Councillorship candidate,  Leader Joseph Onus, said that the medical outreach was not the only time he was impacting on the lives of Abuja residents, especially people living in Gwarinpa, as he uses every opportunity to love his neighbour as he loves himself.

“The medical care is just to show Abuja residents that YPP is interested in their wellbeing. Of course, the health professionals on ground check the BPs of patients here and diagnose them for different ailments. We refer serious cases to the hospital for proper treatment. Moreover, many people have been diagnosed of HIV in the past, so we are sharing condoms to curtail the spread,” he said.
