Yuguda distributes foodstuff to physically challenged

As part of efforts to bring succour to the people living with disability, the Bauchi state Governor, Isa Yuguda, yesterday distributed over 10,000 bags of assorted food items to them in the 20 local government areas.
A political associate of Yuguda, Alhaji Salisu Garba Maisuga, who distributed the assorted food items, said it would go a long way in alleviating the sufferings of the disabled persons in the state.

He said the items were meant to be distributed to blind persons, lepers, the cripple, and deaf and dumb with a view to assisting them and to discourage street-begging.
According to him, the governor out of sympaathy has made it compulsory after every six months to help the disabled and needy with food items.

The food items distributed included 5, 000 bags of maize, 3, 000 bags of sorghum and sugar, and over 2, 000 bags of rice.
Receiving the items, the Sarkin  Makafin Bauchi, Alhaji Abdullahi Jibrin, said the items had already been shared, adding that “as you can see, representatives of each group from the 20 LGAs  are here to collect for their people for onward distribution to the concerned in their localities.”

Jibrin commended Governor Yuguda for making it official to supply food items to disabled persons in the state.
He re-assured the governor that the disabled would be more committed in their prayers towards supporting his administration to achieve its set objectives. He added that the goodwill would drastically reduce street-begging in the state.
The Sarkin Makafin Bauchi called on successive administrations to continue with the established policies and programmes of the Yuguda administration to alleviate the sufferings that forced the disabled persons onto the streets to beg.
