Yuletide: Police ban use of fireworks, reassures on security

The Plateau state Police Command has reassured the people of the state of a watertight security arrangement in order to prevent crimes and criminality during the Christmas festivity.
The command spokesman, ASP Tyopev Terna, stated this in a press release yesterday in Jos.
He said: “The command in collaboration with other security agencies has put in place watertight security strategy to prevent crime before, during and after the yuletide season.”
The police re-echoed that the ban on the use of fireworks, bangers and knockouts was still in force, stressing that; “this is with a view to avoiding all forms of distractions in the execution of the security strategy in place.”
The command encouraged parents to warn their children/ward to desist from committing any such act, cautioning further that any person found flouting the ban would be arrested and prosecuted.
