Zaka foresees blissful season for People’s Elephants

Full back Bala Zakka has reiterated that Enyimba FC of Aba will do more when the 2013/2014 Glo Premier League resumes in July, adding that the People’s Elephants are gunning for double.
Enyimba concluded the first stanza of the league season in fifth place with 29 points after the disappointing goalless draw with Giwa FC on Matchday 19 but Zakka said the remaining 19 games will be approached with more seriousness.
“We still have a good chance to win the league title. The first part was a little tough but over the last few games we have ironed out most of our challenges and we are ready to contend for the title,” he boasted.
Aside from chasing the league title, Zaka also revealed that the People’s Elephants is working hard to ensure that they retained the Federation Cup won last year.
“Right now, we are back in camp, working hard for our Federation Cup opener; so it’s no real break for us. We know what we have to do and we are getting ready for it,” he said.
Zakka has been instrumental to Enyimba’s resurgence since joining the six-time league winners. His superb strike in Bamako gave The Elephants victory against AS Real and he has followed it up with impressive defensive and offensive performances, whether he’s featured down the right or left.
Enyimba will begin the defence of their Federation Cup crown with a tricky Round of 64 fixtures against relatively unknown Sokoto North FC on July 3.
