Zamfara APC chieftain accuses PDP of attempted arson

An aggrieved  All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Zamfara state, Alhaji Ibrahim Maigandi Danmaliki, has accused the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) under the leadership of Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle of attempting to set his personal house ablaze in Gusau, the state capital.

Danmaliki made the accusation in an interview with newsmen in his house in Gusau.

He said around 2:00 am Friday, some unknown hoodlums threw burnt tyres on top of the roof of his house.

“It was when my daughter noticed some unusual smoke, she alerted us and we all gathered and removed the burnt tyres before it could burn the whole house,” he said.

Danmaliki believe the attack was uncalled for adding that his life and that of his families are under serious threat.

“I’ve already sent letters of my complaint to all security agencies and I hope justice will be done,” Danmaliki stated.

He accused the PDP led administration of Governor Matawalle of witch hunting him and other APC members. He also accused the governor of depriving members their freedom of expression, saying APC in the state as opposition party will continue to express its views when necessary on any issue in the state.

Reacting to Danmaliki’s accusations, the director general, press affairs to Governor  Matawalle, Alhaji Yusuf Idris Gusau described the allegations as fabricated lies by Danmaliki, adding that he concocted the lies  to win  peoples sympathy.

He warned Danmaliki to stop the attempt to damage the reputation of Governor Matawalle.

“How can a sensitive government hire hoodlums to set someone’s house ablaze because of political differences?  This is concocted lies by Alhaji Ibrahim Maigandi Danmaliki,” Yusuf stated.
