Zamfara business man demands justice in case with IGP

A business man in Gusau, Alhaji Garba Muhammad Tigana, who was taken to court by the Inspector General of Police, (IGP) Muhammed Adamu, for alleged criminal trespassing, intimidation, causing bodily harm and threat to life of one Alhaji Sanusi Alasan over land dispute between him and Sanusi Alasan has called for justice to prevail.

Tigana in an interview in Gusau Wednesday said the office of the IGP deprived him of his fundamental human right by arresting and detaining him illegally by the team of Police officers from the IGP office on November 15th, 2018.

He said his N2.731 million and handsets were taken away by the IGP officers during the arrest.

“One Sanusi Alasan trespassed to my plot on an erected fence and used his power to communicate with his father in-law who was a serving police officer in the office of the IGP in which his in-law sent Police officers and arrested me and detained me,” he said.

He stated that the police officers under the leadership of one DSP Murtala, now late, stormed his residence at around 5:00am on 15 November, 2018 and arrested him and made away with his N2.731 million including his handsets.

He said all efforts to ensure they return his money and handsets proved abortive.

Mohammed said when the IGP officers arrested him, they forced him to sign a statement that his plot does not belong to him but that it belongs to one Sanusi Alasan Gusau, an action which he described as unconstitutional and inhumane.
