Zamfara cattle dealers raises alarm of sabotage by Miyatti Allah

 

 

The Amalgamated Union of Foodstuff and Cattle Dealers of Nigeria (AUFCDN), Zamfara state branch has raised alarm over what the union described as unconstitutional plan by the Miyatti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN)  to extort money through tax while sending their cows  to the southern part of the country.

This was made known by the state chairman of the union, Aminu Garba Gusau, while addressing newsmen in Gusau, the state capital Tuesday.

He said  the union has its way of clearance of any cow brought to Gusau for sale to the southern part of the country and accused MACBAN for issuing two different receipts to the union.

The union said MACBAN demands payment for every single cow before taking it to some parts of the country for sale. The union said it is a  development aimed at destabilizing the current peace initiative introduced by the state government through collaboration with the office of the commissioner of police.

“We are law abiding citizens and we all knew that MACBAN is not a business entity but to ensure unity and rights of every herdsmen in the country, so we will not accept their policy at all,” Gusau said.

He appealed toGovernor Bello Muhammad Matawalle, President Muhammadu Buhari, the national body of the Amalgamated Union of Foodstuff and Cattle Dealers of Nigeria, national body of MACBAN as well as state commissioner of Police and the office of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to as a matter of urgency look into the matter for peace to thrive in the state.

” We will not watch as  some people are trying to destabilize our businesses without telling the world what they were doing against our uynion and proactive steps should be taken by all the relevant authorities I mentioned earlier for our union to exercise its legitimate mandate and rights in the state, ” he said.
