Zamfara earmarks N3bn for schools renovation

Zamfara state government has approved over N3 billion for the reconstruction and renovation of 114 primary and junior secondary schools across the 14 local government councils of the state.

 

Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Hon. Murtala Adamu Jangebe, disclosed this yesterday shortly after the award of the contracts in Gusau to indigenous contractors by Governor Abdulaziz Yari.

 

According to him, the aim of the state government was to provide conducive environment for teaching and learning in primary and junior secondary schools across the state.

 

He said 10 local government councils selected to benefit from the effort, include Shinkafi, Zurmi, Maradun, Birnin Magaji, Maru, Talata Mafara, Anka, Kaura Namoda, Gummi and Bukkuyum.

The chairman stressed that the state government had concluded arrangements for the purchase of 7,087 tables and chairs for both classrooms and staff offices across the primary and junior secondary schools in the state.or schools renovation
