Zamfara: Fire razes 63 shops, Matawalle visits the scene, commiserates with victims


No fever than 63 shops belonging to traders in Tudun Wada market in Gusau, the state capital of Zamfara raised by fire outbreak Saturday night.
Blueprint reports that property worth millions of naira were burnt by fire as a result of electrical fault at around 1am Sunday morning.


A victim told Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle when he visited the scene of the incident Sunday that property worth millions of naira were burnt as a result of the infernos.
Governor Matawalle then promised to assist those affected with the incident to regain their business.


The governor described the incident as an act of God, saying his administration would try to support those affected with the incident and uplift their businesses.


He called on the traders in the market to avoid any illegal wiring in their shops to avoid reoccurrence of the incident.
