Zamfara games club elects new executives

The Gusau Games Club, Zamfara state has elected its new executives to run the affairs of the union for the next one year.

Speaking at the end of the club’s annual conference, Monday, outgoing president of the club, Hamza Garba, said the meeting was to elect new executives as well as discuss on how to take the club to greater heights.

“The CLUB was established during colonial era with a view to promoting physical fitness and provide recreational activities to its members as well as offering community services; and the club has so far recorded 25 indigenous presidents to date,” Garba stated.


He said membership of the club were drawn from  professional bodies in the state which included medical doctors, lawyers, academics, businessmen and top civil servants. 

Blueprint reports that those elected as new executives of the club include Mr. Osita Nwachukwu as president and Aliyu Idris as secretary among others.

In his goodwill message, the newly elected president, Osita Nwachukwu commended members of the club for their unflinching support and in choosing him as their leader, promising to carry every member along for the progress of the club and improvement of recreational activities in the state.

Nwachukwu further applauded Zamfara state government for creating an enabling environment for the club members and urged them to cooperate with the club leadership to ensure sustainable synergy with the state government to attain the desired objectives.
