Zamfara govt donates N15m to slain cops’ families

The Zamfara state government has donated the sum of N15 million to families of the personnel of the Nigerian Police Force who were killed in an ambush by bandits last week at Kurar Mota in Bungudu local government area of the state.

The Commissioner for Information, Ibrahim Magaji Dosara, disclosed this Friday in a statement released in Gusau.

According to the statement, each of the deceased families is to receive N1million, while the families of those who sustained injuries during the incident will be given N2 million even as the state government has already settled their medical bills.

The statement indicated further that Governor Bello Muhammed Matawalle had said the gesture was part of his administration’s earlier promise to assist families of those gallant security personnel who lost their lives in the cause of protecting the lives of other citizens.

“Since his assumption in office, Governor Matawalle has had cordial working relationships with the security agencies and his administration has been supporting the agencies in discharging their responsibilities,” the statement read in part.

Governor Matawalle had visited the wounded police personnel at the hospital to sympathy with them over the incident.
