Zamfara lawmaker donates motorcycles to former teachers

The federal lawmaker representing Gusau and Tsafe federal constituency, Kabiru Amadu Mai Palace, has donated 10 brand new units of motorcycles to his former school teachers with a view to ease their local transportation.

Mai Palace gave the donation when he invited the former school teachers to a dinner at his personal residence in Gusau.

Blueprint reports that among the teachers honoured  included those of primary, secondary and Islamiyya schools attended by the lawmaker.

Addressing the beneficiaries, Mai stated that the idea was born out of his desire to boost the morale of his various teachers of his alma mata in view of their selfless sacrifice.

“Even though teacher’s reward is in the heaven, there is need for those blessed among their students to assist in providing them with possible basic needs,” Mai Palace stated.

The federal lawmaker specifically acknowledged the roles played by some of the former teachers in making his life more resourceful and productive. He added that he would not relent effort in consulting the former teachers in both personal and official endeavours.

In a speech, a former permanent secretary, Mallam Salihu Anka, who was a vice principal said the gesture by the  lawmaker was what is expected upon every right thinking student that attain certain level of development in life.

Other speakers at the event included provost, Zamfara College of Arts and Science, Gusau, Malam Sanusi Yakubu, Malam Abbas Zakariya and Malam Muhammad Aliyu Alkali who described the manner in which the lawmaker performed, as people driven, while advising him not to be deterred by any threat.
