Zamfara Lawmaker to prioritise youth empowerment

The Zamfara state House of Assembly member representing Talata Mafara Local Government Council also the Cchairman House Committee on Information, Culture and Tourism, Hon Shamsuddeen Hassan Basko, has said he would give top priority to the welfare of the youths in his constituency.

Hon Shamsuddeen made this known in an interview in Gusau, the state capital, Wednesday shortly after Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle accented to the year 2020 appropriation bill that makes it law.

According to him, this year’s budget tagged “Budget of Peace”, would ensure that he would create youth empowerment scheme in the area of skills acquisition, scholarship, sports to create employment and boost the morale of his constituents.

“As I am talking to you now, I have a blueprints that, if implemented, could touch the yearning and aspirations of the entire youths in my constituency and this will be measures for fighting all forms of social vices that youths are usually alleged to participate. This will equally be for the improvement of security as well as reduce redundancy among youths in the state”, he said.

Shamsuddeen, who described youths as a backbone of the society, said no meaningful development can be achieved in any given government where youths are neglected, even as he advised the state government not to compromise on youth empowerment programmes at all levels of the economy.

According to him, the house will always give all the necessary support to the judiciary and  executive arms of government to ensure the successful implementation of the 2020 budget for the development of the state.

He called on youth in his constituency and the entire people of the state to remain law abiding citizens and support the state government to enable it provide basic necessities of lives for them and to move the state forward.
