The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) Zamfara state chapter has expressed worry over increase of medical quackery.
The association described the situation as alarming which need proactive action through joint effort to contain the menace before it takes negative dimensions that might have caused loosing many innocent people in the state.
This was made known by the Vice Chairman of the association in the state, Dr. Sanusi Bello, in an interview with newsmen Saturday. He described the high level of patronage of services rendered by the quack medical staff and called for urgent measures.”Majority of the public are running away from accessing the services of professional health facilities in the state because of lack of patience, curiosity for self-description and above all, the quack medical personel are willing to do their bidding,” he said.
He called on the state ministry for health to be apt and restrengthen its machinery in order to ensure that all the unprofessional persons parading themselves as medical personel were arrested and brought to book.
