Zamfara Police, peace committee secure release of 10 kidnapped victims

The Zamfara State Police Command in collaboration with the state Peace and Reconciliation Committee have secured the unconditional release of 10 Kidnapped victims abducted by kidnappers who stormed Kaya village of Maradun local government area in the early hours of Monday. 

The Police spokeperson, SP. Muhammad Shehu, revealed in a statement issued to newsmen in Gusau.

He said that the victims who includes seven women and three men were abducted and taken to Sububu forest by their abductors but later released with the ongoing peace process initiated by Governor Mohammed Bello Matawalle.

“All the rescued kidnapped victims have been debriefed by the Police and later handed them over to the sole Administrator of Maradun local government hale and harty, who will reunite them with their families,” he said.

According to him, investigation regarding the abduction of the victims has commenced and the outcome will be made public.
