Zamfara under-reported, says Yari’s media aide

Zamfara State government has decried that the state is under reported by the various media organisations operating in the state in the last seven years of Governor Abdulaziz Yari’s leadership.
This was made known by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Enlightenment, Media and Publicity, Hon.
Ibrahim Dosara, when the newly elected executives of the Correspondents chapel of the Nigeria union of Journalists (NUJ) Zamfara state council, paid him a courtesy call on him yesterday.
According to him, Zamfara is among the best in the 36 states of the federation, in terms of the execution of developmental projects with direct bearings on the aspirations of its citizens.
He lamented that, despite efforts made by the state government in the area of provision of portable drinking water, road networks, agriculture, education, healthcare delivery, human empowerment, security, housing to mention but a few, only a little is reported positively by the media.
He tasked the entire working journalists to always ensure that their reports are accurate and balanced before shunning same to the members of the general public.
He said the government was ever ready to accept any constructive criticism that could draw its attention on where it has shortcomings for urgent intervention in the overall development of the state.
In his remarks, the newly elected chairman of the Correspondents chapel, Umar Muhammad Maradun, said they were in his office to solicit the state government’s unflinching support to the new executives and its members when necessary.
Umar Maradun then assured that journalists in the state would always work hand in hand with the state government for the development of the state.
