Zamfara secures jobs for 114 health workers

Zamfara state Ministry for Local Government and Community Development, Tuesday gave automatic employment letters to 114 candidates who had undergone training skills under the supervision of the Foundation Year Programme (FYP) to boost healthcare delivery.

The special adviser to the office of the commissioner, Bashir Malami Jabaka, stated this in an interview with Blueprint in Gusau on the outcome of the meeting between the permanent secretary of the ministry, Alhaji Maradun, his counterpart from the Ministry of Health, Alhaji Hamisu Mohd, officials of the state primary health care and those from the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning.

He said the state ministry had also donated the sum of N2.1million to FYP with a view to sustaining training programme among sponsored candidates to study General Nursing, Basic Midwifery, CHEW and JCHEW courses respectively.

He said the gesture would be sustained every month, adding that the aim of the programme is to improve health care delivery service across the state.

He further informed that, under the programme, candidates were selected from the community across the 14 local government  areas of the state while some allowances would be given to Midwifery Special Scheme that are operating in nine  local government areas of the state.
