Zamfara SUBEB chair calls on security agencies to safeguard all schools in the state

Worried over the impact of lingering insecurity in the Northwest on the education sector , the reinstated chairman, Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board, Alhaji Abubakar Aliyu Maradun (Dan-Madamin Maradun), has appealed to security agencies in the state to adopt holistic measures in securing all public schools.

The SUBEB chairman made the call while addressing journalists shortly after the stakeholders meeting when he assumed office Monday at the board head office in Gusau.

According to him, the call was necessary considering the fact that Zamfara is among the state constantly attacked by Armed Bandits, hence the need for the security agencies to help the state government safeguard all schools from any form of security threat when necessary.

“We must call on security agencies in the state on the need to give all the necessary support to the state government to ensure all public and private schools are fully preserved and protected from the current internal security threat to bandits heinous acts”. He said.

Alhaji Aliyu also called on 14 local government education secretaries of the state to rededicate their commitment in ensuring education development within their respective domains and report any strange movement to the appropriate authority for urgent steps to be taken.

The SUBEB chairman also commended Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle for reappointing him after serving for two years as a board chairman.
He promised to reinvigorate the board for basic education development based on the national policy of education system during his stewardship as chairman of the board.

“We shall strive to support the Zamfara State Government under the leadership of Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle to ensure every child gets basic education and improvement of girl child education during my second time in office”. Alhaji Aliyu Maradun hinted

He further lauded the efforts of all 14 local government councils caretaker committee chairmen and traditional rulers for the unflinching support given to him during his stewardship as chairman for the last two years, calling on them to maintain the tempo.
