Zaria local government council has provided free drugs to contain cholera broke out in some parts of the area. Some persons reportedly died due to the outbreak.
This was contained in a jingle announcement aired on one of Zaria- based local radio stations made by the executive committee of the local government.
The committee called on people of the area to take advantage of the provision to visit government hospitals nearest to them to collect drugs free of charge.
It called on the residents to ensure that their homes and environments were kept in good hygiene, and expressed the council’s sympathy for the families of the deceased.
The committee also urged them to assist healthcare workers going around to purify their wells with chlorine.
