Zaria village, ward heads to enjoy monthly salary from Oct

Village and ward heads in Zaria local government area of Kaduna state are to enjoy monthly allowances of N7,500 effective from next month.
The council chairman, Engr Aliyu Idris Ibrahim aka Magani sai da Gwaji disclosed this at a town hall meeting as part of his administration’s open government policy initiative held at the local government secretariat in Zaria city.
He explained that his council would commencement the payment effective from next month as directed by the state government.
Ibrahim stated that about N30 million has been earmarked for payment of health workers’ salary arrears.
“Similarly, we are to pay four months’ salary arrears of the newly recruited teachers,” he said The council boss further stated that his administration would renovate all the 8 walls and gates fencing the ancient city of Zaria to maintain their historical value.
Engr Ibrahim noted that the meeting was informed by the need to create an avenue for the electorate to have a say in the budget for accountability and transparency in all the local government policy.
